Jack’s Diving Locker has been honored twice this summer with awards concerning the environment. First, Jack’s Diving Locker received the 2009 Pualu Award for Environmental Awareness from the Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce. Pualu means "to work together." This award recognizes Jack’s and their staff for their contributions and actions in conserving the marine environment of Hawaii. In addition, Jack’s Diving Locker has educational programs for visitors, kama’aina, and kids that emphasize marine conservation.
Second, Jack’s Diving Locker received the 2009 Keeping it Green Hawaii award from Recycle Hawaii. Jack’s Diving Locker regularly participates in shoreline and underwater clean ups as well as having a recycling program at their business. The company promotes sustainability with their inception and continuous work with the Day Use Mooring project.
